Aishwarya Rai’s traditional ‘saree-high bun’ combo:
Aishwarya Rai looked drop-dead gorgeous as she turned heads at the 2012 Cannes film festival. For the prestigious event, she picked a traditional off-white sari with chikankari embroidery designed by Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla. Her makeup was comparatively pared back, to let her gorgeous hairstyle do the talking.
She pulled off a high bun with few strands of hair falling out near her ears and accessorised with a subtle faux-hawk. This traditional sari-high bun combo went perfect with her personality, and she scored some high points for this understated yet elegant outfit choice.
Deepika Padukone in classic sharara with her favourite pony:
Opting for crisp tailoring and shimmering femininity, Deepika wore an intricately designed Sharara in her recent outing. The emerald green velvet outfit was designed by Sabyasachi, and paired with her hair tied back in a ponytail, we found it a joyful injection to her by birth cuteness.
While the sharara exhibited a dotted pattern, its dupatta had a simple and elegant touch to it.
The ponytail was kept long, low and extra-glossy, maybe because she wanted to showcase her shiny and natural locks. If you have similar hair, try this- It’s simple yet highly flattering!

Disha Patani’s traditional yet trendy style:
Red seems to be the ‘MS Dhoni’ actress’ go-to colour for special events. She looked ravishing in a bright red ethnic suit for a movie promotion recently. It had a collared neckline and quarter sleeve with ravishing golden thread work.
Disha decided to skip jewellery for the day and left her hair open. This let the outfit do all the talking while the hairstyle complimented by adding charm. This ethnic wear is picked up from the Anita Dongre label.
Costume: Anira Dongre jhumkas from Pinkcity collection.
Jacqueline Fernandez in bridal lehenga:
One of the most stylish girls Bollywood has seen, Jacqueline Fernandez is not afraid of experiments! She turned up in a bridal lehenga for Anju Modi at Lakme Fahion Week 2014, which definitely turned up the ramp’s glam quotient.
Jacqueline donned a glittering lehenga, fully embroidered long sleeved choli and a net dupatta, and had beautiful jewellery complimenting her look. She showed her ability to carry it in utmost elegance by paring it with a gorgeous open wavy hairstyle.
Her style was mostly about the lehenga though, and it had the Ajanta and Ellora paintings and Khajuraho sculpture inscribed. The Bollywood diva really did bring her next level!
Kajal Agarwal’s Anarkali-Messy low bun combo:
One of the best dressed actresses we have today, Kajal Agarwal sported a full sleeved Anarkali suit at ‘Memu Saitam’s dinner with stars’ event. It was embellished with beautiful embroidery sequence all over and teamed it with designer churithar salwar.
She tied her hair into an extra-messy low bun that went perfectly with this charming outfit. We suggest you try the same hairstyle with any gorgeous anarkali to create the same wow factor.
Sonam kapoor’s vintage kurti + side braids:
Sonam kapoor always marches to her own beat, with a unique style! She proved this once again wearing this red rajasthani inspired mirror-work kurti and skirt. It is part of the red vintage ethnic collection, created by her mother -Sunita Kapoor’s label Amaya. She choose matching jewellery form her personal collection to complete the look.
For us, the look totally worked because of the loose curly open hair and side braids. This gave of a relaxed yet sophisticated vibe, just like the outfit.

Kriti sanon’s traditional Anarkali + Side parted straight hair with one side twists:
Kriti Sanon stunned us in this traditional Anarkali as she walked into producer Ramesh Taurani’s Diwali party. The cream and peach shaded Anarkali was very beautiful and made Kriti even more attractive.
She went for traditional design jewellery and her hair was fully parted to one side. She kept hair away from her other side by twisting a section of its strands and pinning it to the sides of the ear.
That’s it ladies! Surely, you can catch more flies with this honey!
Remember, fashion is not something that exists in mere dresses. Just like Tradition, there are lots of other factors that add to it! What’s important is creating a balance.
